This seminar is a 4-5 hour walk led by a professional guide-lecturer.
We strongly recommend to dress modestly as we may visit some holy sites where this is required.
The Old City of Jerusalem, to this day, is one of the most crowded and densely populated communities in the world. Adding the fact that its residents are members of three major religions and dozens of sects, creates a fascinating learning experience regardless of which religion you are connected to.
This seminar's focus is on the religious element in Jerusalem's history. To do so we will visit some of the holiest sites in Jerusalem, helping you to grasp how they all fit together. Making our way through the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Via Dolorosa , the Cardo Street, the Western Wall, as well as the Moslem areas, we take a journey to fully understand what makes this once small middle eastern village, an important site to billions of people.
One of our favorite secret spots on this tour is a spectacular viewing point that requires a bit of a climb. However, since it is located right in the heart of the city, it rewards you with what is undoubtedly the best overview of the old city and surroundings. This location also enables our lecturer to show and explain the complexity and beauty of the old city.
