This first section of our "Ancient Jerusalem Discovery" seminar takes us to where it all began 3,000 years ago when King David declared this site to be his capital and erected what we now know as Jerusalem.

This carefully designed walk begins with a lovely walk along the old city walls as we make our way towards Mount Zion visiting sites such as David's Tomb and exploring the area further for as long as time allows. Further along our way we will reach the major attraction of the walk – the City of David Archaeological Park, an exciting venue that allows our lecturer to tell the story of this early period in Jerusalem's life.

This fascinating venue offers newly excavated discoveries, some only recently opened to the public. Among the attractions are the Shiloah Pool where Israel (Yehuda) kings were crowned and you can opt to visit King Hezikaya's Water Tunnel. Ending our walk at the Wailing Wall area completes a comprehensive tour that will leave you with an abundance of information and a feeling that you now know the essential foundations which make Jerusalem the special city it is.
